Do I need experience to work as a cleaner?
Experience is welcome, but it is not the thing we care about most. We can teach you how to clean to a professional standard, with a full induction, health and safety training, and a supported trial alongside an experienced colleague. What we can't teach is attitude, so what matters more to us is that you are reliable, willing to learn, and someone who takes real pride in a job done well.
Is there a chance to progress?
Yes, and it is a real one. We grow our own supervisors and managers rather than hiring them in, so the path from cleaner to supervisor to manager is open to anyone who earns it. We help you work towards recognised industry qualifications first, then supervisor training, then management for those who want it. You can also earn more along the way by taking on more responsibility and through overtime. We even offer work experience and internships as a way in. If you want a career rather than just a job, there is a genuine path here, and someone helping you take each step.
Can you work around my childcare, caring commitments or studies?
Yes, wherever we can. A lot of our team work around childcare, caring for a relative or studying, and much of our work is early mornings and evenings, which often fits well around those commitments. Tell us what you need on the form and we will be honest about the hours and sites we can offer.
How much do cleaners get paid?
We are committed to paying the Real Living Wage, which is above the legal minimum wage, because fair pay is the least a good cleaner deserves. Exact pay depends on the role and hours, and we will be clear and upfront about it before you start. Uniform and equipment are provided, so you are never out of pocket.
Which areas do you cover?
We work across South West London, including Battersea, Nine Elms, Wimbledon, Wandsworth, Chiswick, Hammersmith, Kingston, Richmond, Putney, Fulham, Clapham and the Teddington and Twickenham area. Put your postcode on the form and we will look for work near you.
Do you run background checks?
Yes. Because our teams work in offices and other buildings, often unsupervised, every operative is vetted, including ID and right-to-work checks, references and a DBS check, with an enhanced DBS where the role involves working around children or vulnerable people. It is a normal part of joining, and we guide you through it.
